Have you ever heard of Jandek?

Lost in the storm he was

What was the reason, just because

Have you ever heard of your children?

Lost and invisible in your eyes

Did you have them to forget them

Put your hands against the wall

Let your blind friend play the knife game

The Lord put his trust in you and you failed

To bring home the bacon

Let the forest overgrow and cover your toes

While you dance in your colorful clothes

You put your things in a dresser and lock it all away

Ring your doorbell till it sings loud and long

Then you let me in across the universe and out your back door

Lover’s eyes, put me in the backseat and say goodbye

The stars are coming out and you better watch out

Let the words just flow because you don’t know

What the hell you’re saying

Your mother’s hands are working that tomato field

They’re wrinkled and bleeding from pulling up the ivy

You hear your boring rumors that spin around you

Put me in the ground and watch me grow

Put the fairy in the jar, waste her life and light with reading

You should let her be and let her free

Before you sing or come talk to me

Distance in between us makes me feel freedom

Give a heavy hand to your dog

The priest claps and yells your name from the pulpit
