Yah I know this is a little dark and may be considered for 16 and over but I think that 13year olds can read this with no problem. I had to do this for my English class and I think I freaked my teacher out! My mom read it and only asked if my teacher thought I had a problem like this and if I was calling out for attention. I don’t think my teacher really thought of it like that. I think at least!
Well I Hope you like it. Now that I read it again I think it can still use more work. Thank you AriadneInLove for helping me with this! I hate sonnets… they drive me insane… maybe that is why I killed Shakespeare and did this instead of the lovey dovey thing. “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”… God I hope not.. Way to hot and bright for me! Edgar Allan Poe is so much better!!!!
Life in Torment
Never in my dreams did blood truly shed.
But, I cannot stop myself when you shove.
It is hate not love that I sense instead.
What do you feel for I know it’s not love?
So here I stand and draw my steady breath.
Standing, bleeding in my sad loneliness.
My pain is blissfully released in death.
But all awaits me is your cold caress.
I now realized you are a tyrant!
Nothing more than a man for me to use.
Where is your heart for your chest is vacant?
For years I have longed to stop this abuse.
From this life of torment gladly I stood,
Up against your lies and many falsehoods!
Shakespeare lovers please don’t hate me! I love him too and all but sometimes he gets a little redundant. Especially in his plays.
Quoth the raven, ‘Nevermore.’
-Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘The Raven’
