Maybe I’m Carsick

Sunset moon over a small town,

We’ve been on this road a while.

My head is spinning and maybe I’m carsick,

Still got about 5 million miles.

I’m tired of hinting with sighs,

So now you listen to my words.

I need to get out and stretch my legs,

From this task with no reward.

Oh yeah,

I’m on to you.

Our destination doesn’t really exist.

Oh yeah,

I figured you out.

So where, exactly, is “off the map’s print?”

What about all these pretty places,

I want to absorb them through my heels.

You’ve been speeding through so fast,

You’re burning the rubber off your wheels.

No more of you in the driver’s seat of my life,

I’m off to find my part of the journey.

Next time our paths cross down the line,

It’s you that needs to catch up with me.

You’ve always got me to come back for,

You’re never gonna find what you’re after.
