CRUEL GAME

I realize now that loves a cruel game played by many and won by few,

I’ve played many times haven’t you?

We build ourselves up just to fall down,

We’re placed on a stage overviewed by a crowd.

I’ve broken my heart in several places,

Not just one helped there were many faces.

Disappointment fills me again and again,

Oh won’t someone tell me when this will end.

Loves a cruel game this I know,

It knocks me down and keeps me low.

Its not that I enjoy being hurt,

And this goes beyond a meaningless flirt.

Love is something we should all cherish,

If not then the whole world will perish.

Loves a cruel game, haven’t you heard?

But lucky me I know the word.

I found God and he helps me through,

And I know he’ll help you too.

Turn to him and give him your life,

Cause loves a cruel game,

But not too cruel as long as you have Christ.
