The sky was a brilliant shade of blue,
And there were no stars out.
I just hung my head, sniffled a bit,
And shoved my hands in my hoodie pockets.

The silence between us
Was deafening that night.
And the traffic
Seemed louder than ever.

Looking to the sky again,
I see two stars and only two.
I wished on both.
