Epilogue: (Yes, this is the end.)
After ten years, it seemed weird to root through her stuff again…she didn’t know that moving into her bridal home would uncover so much of her old junk.
Jenny grinned as she came across a box in her old closet. Lying on the top of it was her diary. As she opened the first page, she saw it read: Jennifer’s Diary. Keep out. Please?
That hadn’t stopped Devon from reading it, she remembered ruefully. Then again, that one event had caused was a catalyst and now she was happily married.
At twenty seven, it was hard to believe that so much time had passed since high school. Hell, it was hard to believe that she was now married. Her long brown hair now easily reached her waist when curly, and her face had matured to make her a beautiful woman rather than just a pretty girl.
She flipped open the diary to the last entry. She remembered that she had written in it a few weeks into senior year…
Dear Diary,
It seems really funky to be writing in you after a long time. I guess you’re wondering what happened to me from when I stopped writing and now.
I hate to say it, but I become anorexic again. It’s actually still hard to admit I had a problem. It didn’t seem like I did when I did have one…it was more like a diet for me and it felt like I was balancing my life and eating right. But that wasn’t too true when I woke up in the hospital.
Devon and I got together right after that. We still are together, and I think that it’s going to last for some time.
She stopped reading for a second to chuckle at her perceptiveness.
I didn’t ever tell you that I moved in with Robert, did I? I live with him and Timmy at the moment. Most of my stuff is still here, at home, except my clothes and a few other items which I need. My room there is always cluttered as it is.
Robert and Heather aren’t together. It’s sort of sad, I would have loved to have her as a sister.
It’s not like it mattered now. Robert was dating some girl in his college, Maryanne something or the other…Mason, she thought. And Heather was married years ago to an old childhood friend. She had two kids.
Anyway, yeah, I think that’s pretty much my life as it is right now…so peace out.
-Jenny
So much had stayed the same, yet so much had changed. Smiling, Jen put the diary back on top of the stuff. She had been so damn oblivious throughout her high school and college years. When he had finally proposed marriage to her, it had come as a total shock and she had refused…the second time around, though, she accepted.
Thank god she did.
“Jenny! How long does it take to get all your stuff together? The moving van’s been waiting! Do you need help?”
“No, I’m fine!” she called back to her husband. “Most of the stuff I want to keep is in a box I need to bring down. Give me five more minutes.”
“Okay,” he answered standing in her door. She whirled around in shock; she hadn’t heard him come up the stairs.
“Crap, you scared me.”
“Aw, my poor, new bride,” he said mockingly, bending down his head to kiss her. She kissed him back shyly. Although they had been together for quite some time, she never got over the feeling of magic.
A few seconds later, she pulled away. “I’m never going to finish if you distract me,” she said, “so take this down.”
She shoved the box at him.
“Yes dear,” he said dutifully.
---
Minutes later, Jen was in the car as they headed towards their new home. When he parked in the driveway, he spoke up.
“I love you, you know,” he said suddenly. “I’m glad you finally said yes.”
“I love you too,” she said, smiling as they kissed.

AN:
I know a lot of you are going to hate me, but that’s how the ending had to be. I’m serious…I mean Devon and Jen together forever? I don’t think so. They got together too fast without resolving anything. ((Okay, for those of you who don't get this...initally I had a different ending!...well, no, I gave up a secret in hte ending that has to do with my epilogue...so this is my way of keeping this good for the old readers but still a mystery for new ones))
That’s why I got pissy when people were telling me two chapters ago that it was a bad ending. It was a high school relationship, it wasn’t going to last if they didn’t resolve their issues and, well, they hadn’t.
For all of you who thought Bri and Timmy were going to end up together – pfft no. Timmy’s too nice for her.
I’d like to specially thank soft-spoken, orchidlover, dangel14, cooties, crazylady4, Dawne Samantha, Checha, punkturnedwriter, and Romance Addict. You guys were the ones who started reviewing my story from the first three chapters, when it really needs the support to take off….so I seriously attribute most of my success to you guys…also I’d like to thank the constant reviewers, it was really nice of you to stick with the story, even when it got a bit shaky!!!
HEY EVERYONE: READ MY NEW STORY, BUSINESS TALK.
Christina is new to town – the daughter of rich CEO Bradley Stokes, she just wants to be treated like a normal kid. She enrolls in Norton, full of other kids just like here, where she meets James Dawson.
James Dawson’s father is the CEO – of Christina’s father’s rival. Needless to say, when he sets eyes on her, it’s war. Literally. But he can’t help getting attracted to her – she’s pretty, spunky, and somehow vulnerable…
When their father’s find out, they forbid it. The media would have a field day and possibly screw with the company values. They say it’s dangerous for them to be together…now she has to choose…
Now review responses….
Queen of the Dragonslayers: Thanks, I think….
OrchidLover: Thanks, cept this is the real ending, not that…I deleted it, it seemed drawn out and sort of bad to me. I’ll fix it later and maybe put it up.
Dawne Samantha: They were cute, I guess. Yeah, I liked Bri. Yeah, I was, Jenny and Timmy’s “man, I finally realized I love you” story. I might write a one-shot on what happened so that any confusion gets cleared up, or a full blown sequel, but for now this will have to do.
Dirty Secret: thanks for reviewing! The epilogue come as a surprise?
Kylie1403: Thanks!
Fallen Roze: Thanks, I’ll consider!
