(break)down

you're sobbing self-lies into wires
while incessant thoughts of "why" are
now running always through your head (the first real motion there in years)

and the taste of tears that burn your tongue
joins bitter thoughts of what you've done
and ev'ry thing you've ever said (ends up as fuel for nameless fears)

you're so distressed you cannot tell
that every time you got to hell
the words that came from him to you (were rhymed, like this, in litanies)

and hints of the surreal are lost
on minds like yours, you paid the cost
for being perfect, but untrue (you've given up your sanity)

and plotlines hidden, twisted, wrong
amount to nothing in this song
the topic, here, that i present (regarding not: sense, honesty)

you're toying with what should not be
and marks on wrists i'll never see
return us to what i resent (reality's come back for me)
