Words and thought a-caper
scuttling across paper
and through the printer taper
out in black and white.
I was ready for a fight,
thought that I did right
to stand out in my way.
But what’s the use of planning
when things only go astray?
Snuffed in life’s ashtray,
I’m replaced by everyday
every day, in shades of gray.
