Nikira- Book One: Forgotten Memories
The Tale of Wolfians
Earth, a planet ruled by humans. Creatures, which fear anything that could think for them self, or stronger than them, and when they come across something they think is a threat, their answer has always been the same: eliminate it. They have ruled since the dawn of time, and would seem to rule until the planet earth was destroyed, but a greater creature was growing in secrecy, unknown to mankind.
Old fairy tales spoke of humans that can turn into a wolf but how wrong were those stories, for it was the other way around. Indian tribes’ spoke of wolves that had the ability to turn human, and have unique, mystical powers, the Indians called these creatures, Wolfians. The Indians worshiped them as gods for their mystical powers, their intelligence, for their strength, and also for their agility. Only they knew about the Wolfians, the rest of mankind lived without knowing, and prospered. The Indians and the Wolfians lived peacefully together but when the Indians disappeared from the land, so did the Wolfians.
Most Wolfians hid from mankind by acting like just another wolf, but many went into their human form and lived their life as humans, but in doing so many lost their ability to transform back, and all of them lost their mystical abilities. They hid from mankind for along time but some Wolfians couldn’t take hiding any more and showed themselves to humans as much as possible. They made the humans fear them, cause havoc upon them, and sooner did they think, Wolfians were found out by the world. The humans took action and killed any Wolfian which could be found, even a child no less: there was no pity, or regret for the creatures, they were labeled dangerous for eternity.
It seemed the humans were winning the fight no matter how hard the Wolfians fought back, until a very powerful Wolfian that still had his mystical powers stood up, his name was Goran, and unknown at the time, he would change the world. He was a leader, and spoke of peace and harmony between the humans and Wolfians, that no longer fear loom in every soul. Many Wolfians followed him and Goran had gained many allies, he grew very powerful but the power had corrupted his mind. He became power hungry, and he had turned completely evil. With his newfound power, he started an army, an army which he was going to use to wipe out all of the humans…and those who betray him.
Many Wolfians rebelled at his evil plan, and they were almost overpowering him, and that’s when he Goran started a group of Wolfians that would serve him. The group contained Wolfians that would do every word he would say in return for ultimate power. They would do anything for power; even kill their own family if it had come down to it. Thus, Goran granted the power which they craved madly for but only so much, for he did not want one of his new servants to try and overthrow him. That was how the Blood Servants became what they are today, vicious killers of both races.
The war had turned, and Goran and his Blood Servants were winning this horrible war. The humans were losing badly, so they created their own little army, Wolfian Hunters. Their leader was Krea Harp and she knew all sorts of ways to take a Wolfian down, she even found the way to find a Wolfian in their wolf forms.
It had seemed the war would go on forever, until a prophecy was told by a wise Wolfian which had lived with the Indians long ago.
“Goran would be betrayed by a follower, a creation he had made from the start of his evil rain of terror. The Wolfian was far more powerful than Goran, but the Wolfian would be put into an endless sleep to be awakened with forgotten powers. To take Goran down, the Wolfian would take training from other powerful creatures around the world, and when their training was complete, the ultimate battle will began. But if the Wolfian would die, or join forces with Goran, it would be the end of both worlds as we know it….”
When Goran got wind of this prophecy he was furious, but it was far too late. One of his most trusted Blood Servant had betrayed him, for they had fallen in love with a half-breed: part human and part Wolfian. Goran was angered greatly and sent out his Blood Servants to kill his once most powerful servant, to show no one could take him down. The two heard he was after them, and they fled but the effort was futile, for in the end Goran caught them himself. Goran was furious he was betrayed for a half-breed and wanted to punish his most unfaithful servant, so he killed the half-breed in front of his servant’s eyes. Then he had killed his Blood Servant, making all Wolfians that were still pure and honest feel misery, for they had seem to have lost the war. But the fool Goran did not stop the prophecy, he had helped the prophecy begin, and start the end of his evil terror of humans and Wolfians. He had created what he tried to stop, he had begun the prophecy.
