Petal’s Fading
One by one the roses fall.
Petals softly hit the earth
Surrendering to Death’s call,
Now wait for Spring and Rebirth.
The wilting stem sags and bends,
Leaves fold and curl, then it dries.
The colors fade, and its life ends
Until the Sun once again flies.
They wait through a world of white,
Endure Winter’s shiv’ring pale.
No buds bloom, nor are in sight
‘Til snow clouds no longer sail
Lying ‘neath a blanket cold,
Flowers’ tales of Death are told.

A/N: My first attempt at a sonnet (I dunno if its Shakespearean or Elizabethan…I didn’t really pay attention to that lesson in English XD)
