An Ode To Aussies

A witty lot that make me laugh

Hailing from Sydney, Melbourne or Victoria

Others are closer to the bush

Some live in the heart of the cities

No matter where they come from

All of them are my mates

I've been lucky to have known them

Some day I'll encounter them on my travels

For the moment I am grateful

Because in knowing them I learn something new

I can always see the world in a different view

I never met an Aussie I didn't like

All of them are fine by me

I'm just lucky that way

They're wonderful, warm people to know

With something witty to say

And if you think they speak in slang

Most of them are like you and me

They do enjoy a good joke or laugh

In that land down under surrounded by the sea.
