I wake up every morning with the

Disillusion

That my life will change today.

And every afternoon the truth

Comes crashing down

And scatters my last hope away.

Maybe some aren’t meant to go far

Staying here in

Average is our destiny.

So be content with what you have,

The black and white

Regretful life of normalcy.

Yet still I

Wait for the day when

Sweet fate

Will take me away

From here.

To a place where

They all know my name

And I’m treasured and loved

For more than my fame

But I fear

That ain’t ever gonna happen.

Every bird will fly one day

But not all make it

To the destination planned.

All that’s left for me to do is

Squash my pride

And take my bland fate by the hand.
