My bare feet shiver
I pad lightly across the floor
The dim light peeking through the hall blinds
Tells me morning has almost come
I close the door quietly, go over to the sink
Splash silvery water upon my face
Refreshing, it wakes me up suddenly
I linger, looking at my reflection for a second, and smiling
I dry up hastily, and rub my eyes awake
I sneak silently back down the hallway
Into his room, plunging myself into a heated darkness
I crawl over his peaceful, gentle form on the bed
Under the blankets and into his eternal warmth
Once again he curls himself around me
Arm over my side, and legs intertwined with mine
He kisses my neck and I sigh deeply
A single tear creeps down my cheek
It saddens me to know I have to forgo this perfect moment
In only hours it'll be gone, I'll be on my way home
I can't bear to leave you again darling
