burn a hole through my body
like a flamethrower burning flesh
They shine like the light of a burning flame
as my eyes stare and stare
unable to focus on anything
but the ashes of a treasured past
The feelings that once existed
burn and burn, remnants of something
that I swore was great
but are nothing more
then the ashes of a treasured past with you.
