(Scene opens in a dark playground. A winged woman sits perched on top of a slide. She is gazing out over a lake, staring blankly into the dark night. The camera closes in, and we see tears rolling down her cheeks.)

WINGED WOMAN: "Goodbye My love."

-Break

(A young girl with blonde pig tails swings slowly back and forth at a park next to a lake. She looks up and smiles.)

GIRL: "I know you're up there! I can hear your wings, silly."

(A giggle is heard from somewhere above the girl. 'wooshing' noise; like wings. A winged, dark haired young girl drops down in front of the blonde girl, pouting)

WINGED GIRL: I try so hard to sneak up on you, Carol Anne. You'd think being invisible would help, but oh no, you always manage to hear me...

CAROL ANNE: Don't pout Zepher... Can you give me a push?

ZEPHER: Alright. But I know you can push yourself...

(scene fades as a woman voice begins speaking)

VOICE: I had been the youngest angel with a charge, and watching over Carol Anne was my purpose. I suppose I loved her, but what angel doesn't love their charge? When she was very young, she'd seen me from her window as I'd watched over her that night, and from then on, she'd call me whenever she was lonely. She never questioned where I'd come from, or even aknowledged what I was. That never mattered..

(as the woman speaks, flashes of memories play across the scene)

...Many think angels are sent by God to protect people. If there is a God, we've never met. Every one has an angel, someone who grows with them, protects them, and comforts them in thir own quiet way. Most people can't see their angel. That's why Carol Anne was so very dear to me...

(Scene goes to the room of a teenaged Carol Anne. Zepher taps gently on the window, and Carol Anne looks up from where she is laying on the bed. She is crying. She opens the window, and sits glumly on the bed.)

CAROL ANNE: You can show up anywhere, why do you use the window?

ZEPHER: Because when you're upset you don't like being disturbed. This way, if you don't want to talk, you don't have to answer. I'm sorry about what happened today.

CAROL ANNE: He was a jerk anyways...

(Carol Anne lays down with her head in Zepher's lap. Zepher sings softly and strokes her hair as the scene fades out)

VOICE: I was made for Carol Anne. Without her, I'd have no purpose. The world is full of such angels; those with no one. Many angels eventually forget who they were made for, and find a newborn with no angel. They are thus reassigned. They can move on. But those angels who forn special bonds with their charges often roam the earth eternally....

(Scene changes to the woods, where Carol Anne is seen running away from an unseen attacker. As he moves into view, we see he is carrying a knife. Zepher hits out at him but she leaves no mark. Carol Anne trips and goes down, with her attacker closing in.)

ATTACKER: All mine now...

(Scene fades out as Carol Anne screams)

(As voice begins speaking, we move steadily closer to the dead Carol Anne)

VOICE: Angels are immaterial, and as such we can only guide and advise. We can't stop the natual order. We can only touch our charge; watch helplessly as they are cut down before our eyes. We are damned, truly. My Carol Anne died there in the dark woods, with no one to help her. She was killed bye the man she loved...

Scene goes back to Zepher sitting at the playground, crying. She bows her head and whispers

ZEPHER: Goodbye.
