Do you see the calm waters?

How smooth and still it is?

The reflection of the moon,

Shimmering so clearly.

Ghostly pale light,

illuminating the surroundings,

the lake,

the trees,

the bright golden eyes.

Let me step out,

pale grey fur coming into light.

Pad to the surface,

ruined reflection.

The light forms a staircase,

stairway to heaven.

Step by step,

closer and closer,

floating on the surface.

Walking up,

into heaven,

The wolf gives one resounding howl,

And disappears.
