The Death of the Rose

The petal falls upon the blackened moor

A stain upon the earth

Symbolizing the red upon the floor

The loss of innocent, childish mirth

Laughter dying, smile losing

The battle of the heart

The main vein is cruising

Set on tearing itself apart

Stars cry the blackest tears

On this day of death

Throats cry the heart's fears

Fearful of life's final breath

Look to the falling petal

Cry your crystal tears

Bubbling poison from the kettle

Death deprived of all those years

Take the final, painful dose

Fall upon your bed

Look to the bleeding rose

And sleep upon the red
