It Is Dark Out
By: Brittany Dickens
Ms. Pitts/3rd period/Hon. English
It is dark out
The trees are sleeping
The streams sing lullabies
Mother nature rubs my head
It is dark out
All is still
The wind rocks the grass to sleep
I feel it’s touch on my feet
It is dark out
The owls watch me on the ground
The flowers are my blanket
The smooth river rock is my pillow
It is dark out
The day was long
Now the world sleeps
As my kinsmen sing this song.
