convince me he is
just another bump in
the road
& we're off selling
lemonade
on this humid summer day

despite his lack of
consideration
for my classic
indecisiveness,
for my awestruck
infatuations
i am bouncing back
(elastic spanding plastic breasts, feet, limbs, heart)
i am grabbing a grip of the trailing skies

i am selling lemonade
at my tacky
homemade stand today

pass by in your shiny new
Barbie convertible,
flash me one of your...
looks...
those looks that always made me cringe,
remember?
i will crown you with daisies & baby's breath
and promise to stay with you
forever
free of my moods and my
conceitedness, i swear it, if you

buy my lemonade
only 25 cents a cup today
