Pieces of Gum

Jan 31, 2006

A pale blue stick

A paper wide

Three bites I take

Chewing, I cry

Three tear drops fall

A winter mint

The flavor's gone

The taste all spent

I spit it out

Then three bites more

Another piece

Another regret

I miss him so

His cinnamon gum

The wonderful tales

The heart-wrenching family love

I cannot reach him now

He has gone

No more warmth

From cinnamon gum

The bitter winter

Is almost flavorful

Ice-drawn tears

Upon the red snow.
