Jhonen/Gaeth

Jhonen reached over to brush the quills of his lover's wings. Gaeth was worn out by the events of the past week. Jhonen could see thoughts of possessions and death and grief flutter across the pale angel's face before he settled back into the caress. Angel's wings, mused the demon. Surprisingly sensitive. He punctuated that thought by an especially deep pull on a feather and was rewarded by a muffled moan.

Jhonen smirked and dug his hands in deeper. Cause, he thought. Gaeth tried to grab a hold of his lover's wings in return, but missed entirely, only succeeding in flailing blindly. Eggect. He went back to lightly stroking the white feathers. They were so soft, utterly unlike his own patchy black wings. But then, he thought, angels are supposed to be beautiful. Demons aren't.

"But you are."

Jhonen snapped out of his reverie to look at Gaeth, whose head had now turned to gaze back, blue eyes boring into the darker man.

"I thought you were asleep."

"Hardly. You were brooding. You have that face."

"What do you mean 'but you are'?"

"Beautiful. You are beautiful. Not all sparkly white and clean, but gorgeous all the same."

"You were reading me, weren't you?"

"Job perk."

"It's still strange to me how you can just call being one of God's Chosen a job."

"But it is. I love my job—I was created for my job. That doesn't mean it's everything I am."

"I wish I had that."

"You do. You've got me."

An hour later, when Jhonen was capable of rational thought again, he smirked. Cause? Angel's wings. Effect? One smitten demon.
