this is my take on the french revolution and many other revolutions like it. i am quite fascinated by the french rev's historical significance and i can't help but admire the couragea and heroism of the people and fear the horror and manslaughter of the era.
is time spent rather wisely;
a moment of dead silence
chills us quite pleasantly.
the ropes that swing in tune
have bodies stitched in.
there lies a secret scar
in every single neck broken.
-
a whole crowd of angry fists,
angst and the stench of rage,
a new set of martyrs and
new names in a bloody page.
when every traitor has died
then this book shall be filled.
this mob’s prayer will be denied
unless the guilty are killed.
-
years of utter hatred
and chains that barely fit
will never be traded
with jeweled throats slit.
but revenge is rather sweet
with the surge of madness.
courage will be 'wakened
from momentary blindness.
-
murder is justified by life –
rebellion, by sought liberty.
this garrison of bleeding hearts
has fin’lly overcome cruelty.
but the darkest of times
have only just begun...
and our blood-thirsty crimes
will haunt us for what we’ve done.
