A boyish girl of barely three
Her world shrouded in mystery
She asks what Momma dares not say
Until that old face fades away

His smiling words were so obscene
To that tomboy-girl of just thirteen
And although she was torn apart
No comfort for her wavering heart

Left to walk out in the cold
Until she feels so fucking old
Twenty years of faithless hope
Lie in her hands with a length of rope

Dirty secrets are made of glass
They shatter if you dare to ask
She’ll reach for a familiar face
But everything has been erased

The memory so stained with blood
Did wash away amid the flood
And whether Hell or Heaven bound
She, facing failure, cuts herself down
