A Banshee’s Scream

I’ve ceased being human because of you—
You’ve stolen my heart; my breath and soul too!
I cried when this sword pierced me straight through
Everything because of you——

Because of you—a dragon’s flame—
Burned out all my shame—
And pain!
Because of you—a dying tree—
And nothing inside me!

Because of you—a banshee’s scream—
A broken dream—
That I believed!
Because of you—a broken heart—
Left crying in the dark!

Because of you—a faerie’s tears—
To make my fears—
Simply disappear!
Because of you—a demon’s touch—
Broken body in the dust!

Because of you—a broken wing—
An angel who can’t sing—
It stings!
A bird that cannot glide on air—
Because nothing is left there!
