People always say the words that suffocate,
Parents have no regard for the things they say,
They scold us,
For every mistake we make,
Never pausing to let us explain.
--
Every child soon knows,
It’s better to be silent,
Then to talk back.
Parents inflict painful words,
Words laced with venom,
Words that slowly infect and poison.
--
Piece by piece,
We lose all hope,
And lose all thought.
--
Falling into a pit of desolation,
We cry for help,
But there’s no one to hear us scream,
No one,
Oh no one.
--
We turn to drugs,
Smoking,
Or anything that gives us
A moment of happiness,
A glimmer of false hope.
--
Look at that little girl,
A helpless victim of child abuse,
She looks but she doesn’t see,
All thoughts lost this mist.
--
A hazy cloud of pain,
She will no longer breathe.
She waits,
And waits,
For this world to stop,
And release her from this suffering.
Her innocence lost,
She no longer has the naïve thinking,
For one of only ten,
She knows.
--
She no longer respects this world,
The damage inflicted on this child,
By her dear parents.
Hatred boils in the young one’s blood,
Release is given.
She looks down at her bloody hands,
A ghost of a smile dances upon her lips.
She could hear the soft drip of the red liquid,
The warmth,
The metallic scent,
Sweet yet bitter.
--
The torture,
The suffering,
Will now stop.
--
She falls to the ground,
Red clouding her vision,
She closes her eyes,
Her lips set in an eternal smile.
Her hands clutch the metal object,
Bringer of her happiness,
Plunged so deeply into her heart.
--
The torture,
The suffering,
Will now stop.
