at least i have you

you

in your quiet moments

the lines in your face

march

across my eyelids

when i sleep.

constellations

on your arms

freckles to hold

together my universe.

you make me want to

let go

just to see where

i'll end up

flying

in shadows

on asphalt

my arms outstretched

speeding

behind you

the sky looks bigger,

brighter

when i look at it

from the view

of our two worlds

combined.

my muscles relax

to coax these things

out of parted lips.

and then contract,

alone

at night

my back aches

for the magic of your touch.

that,

at least i have that

that which is you.
