| Where I'm From
Author: Luthiena o Lorien In Language Arts we had to write a poem about "where we are from". Whatever. We also had to present it to the class. Not fun.

A Language Arts assignment
I'm from Snoopy collections
And seven-layer bars;
From tales of Hades and Loki
And the One Ring to rule them all.
I'm from friendships made half-way through the year,
From the velvet blanket of night
And the dance of a pen over paper.
From a year of sandy deserts
And hours lost in different lands;
From Romanticide and Ravenheart
Party Line and Good Eats.
The thrill of red (and the pride that comes with it)
Sons like soaring birds wrapping around,
Needle-and-thread-painted pictures,
And picture books read to my sister at night.
I'm from long conversations with friends
And silent moments of solitude.
