That old tree fell down today.
The same one we climbed as kids.
That was back when we were pure,
Just playing in innocence.

Growing up took a couple kisses
Or just something a little more.
Just caught up in a moment
Seeing tears fall to the floor.

Screams into microphones project the fire
That burns in the darkened hearth
And deep within your beating heart.
Grab a drink before you go home.

There's some metal shard inside the bark
From the bumper of my best friends car.
Screeching tires and shattered lights,
Some strange beautiful new art.
