I Want To Be an Angel

I want to be an angel

so I can paint the sky.

I wish to see God’s canvas

and ask if I can try.

I want to be an angel

to dip my wings in paint

and face the clear blue sky,

the blue that I could taint.

I want to stain my feathers

with brilliant sunset hues

and coat my fingers in darkness

and mix the nighttime blues.

I want to do it every night,

just dip my wings and go.

I want to see the houses

lit by my canvas’s glow.

And in the morning with the sun

I can try that too.

I want to see the sunrise,

and see it next to you.

So you can see the work I’ve done

standing high atop the hill.

You can see your angel

and your angel’s will.

I want to be an angel

but I don’t want to die.

I can see God’s canvas

and the angel who paints the sky.

Author's Note: This is actually used in Broken Wings That Never Mend later on in the storyline but for now it's right here. The italics signify a new stanza since FP is so weird about that...

TODD!!

You make me blush every single time you review me and most of the time you aren't far off the real point I was trying to portray. For My Songbird, Mike--I really love him but I live so far away now that he's now my EX-boyfriend...but I still love him. I know...it's bad but it's for the best.

As for your review of Piano, you made me cry. Seriously, that poem was made for my character, Jason (who, may I point out, is my favorite character and to whom I am very emotionally attached) and his story, Broken Wings That Never Mend. Unless you read the story I wouldn't think you could know all this but most of the things you said in that review aren't even in the story yet. You hit the points almost right on for the story-line but hit points in the poetry that I had yet to see myself! If anyone reads your review they aren't going to want to read Jason's story because of the sad ending! Todd you just make life difficult for me but you know what? I love it. Thank you for the reviews I adore them!!
