Hail the Brunsonator
By: K.S. Night
December 15, 2005
Band geeks, off your hats!
Stand up straight and tall.
Salute your Brunsonator past,
The best conductor of them all.
When on his podium he stood,
Respect he did command.
When he raised his wand of polished wood,
Our attention he did demand.
Hail the mighty Brunsonator
Who kept teenage goons in line.
A feat beyond all other ‘-ators’
His will would not be denied.
Now as the Brunsonator leaves us,
Shed not tears of sorrow.
Do not think he’s abandoned us
Because he won’t be here tomorrow.
He may be here no more,
But he would not want us to quit
The band we worked so hard for,
Because he’s not here to lead it.
He’ll never truly leave,
So don’t fret because he’s gone.
If we support each other diligently,
We’ll be able to move along.
Keep the Brunsonator in your heart,
And think of all the fun we had.
Think of all the happy parts,
So his memory won’t be sad.
Remember all the football games;
The annoying pep band tunes.
Remember that he was not ashamed
To hang with a band (and orchestra) or goons.
So hail our dear conductor!
Raise your goblets in a toast!
Hail the mighty Brunsonator,
The teacher we love most!
Dedicated to Richard Brunson
