How much for a life?

How much for a daughter,

A son?

Is one

Worth more

Than another?

Why?

Why do I want three of one,

And only one of one?

Why do you want none?

Why can’t she have any?

Why won’t you just let her pay,

And be on her way,

Whaddya say?

“Not today”?

Then when?

This waiting,

Waiting, waiting.

Will I even want it,

Once I have it?

I worry about wasting,

Wasting, wasting,

My money.

Because a life,

Daughter or son,

Seems to be very expensive.
