Revenge on Tim Carter

After it all transpired, I yelled with anger but only to myself, as if I will seek revenge! “You killed my wife, daughter, and I shall have my vengeance!” I whispered to myself, as if I was helpless, yet unsure if my effort was valiant enough… “I saw him do it right in front of me, but I couldn’t do a thing.” I screamed with conviction… “Tim Carter, I will get revenge!”

I thought he was my friend, but I guess I was mistaken. He, Tim Carter, was an attorney general. His high authority made me skeptical of a cover up, but I must have him suffer for his actions. I must!

I immediately called the police, after I witnessed the terrible events that displayed. The conversation seemed very eerie, almost as if the officer on the other line was in disbelief of my visual sight of the crime.

When I was certain the officer picked up the phone, I yelled, “Help! Help…please help!”

The officer seemed aware that I was panic-stricken, so she said, “Calm down… please calm down… everything will be all right… now what happened.”

I screamed, “My wife and child were murdered!”

The officer replied in a concerned yet unconvinced tone, “What did you see?”

I replied as if I am still in a state of shock, “Everything… I had seen it all!”

The officer spoke in a gentle tone, “So you’re aware of what the person looks like?”

I screamed with conviction, “Tim Carter! It was Tim Carter…. I am certain.”

The officer spoke as if she was incredulous of what I had actually seen. “Now are you sure it was him.”

I spoke with an irate tone because it was obvious she was in disbelief, even though I had declared I was certain of what I had seen. “Yes! Yes… I am positive! Why question me!”

The officer spoke as if she couldn’t help me, “Well then, come back tomorrow and we will get a good sketch of what you think the suspect looks like.”

She quickly hung up the phone before I could say, “I know what he looks like!”

I cried myself to sleep, and got a postponement from work for about two weeks. Some cops and detectives did come by to clean up the body, they told me not to worry, because they would do an autopsy. The next day I went to the police station and had their expert draw a portrait of the killer. He was around six feet tall and weighed close to two hundred pounds. He was forty years old and Caucasian. The police said not to worry because no matter what position of authority he had, that they would find him.

Around 11:37 pm, I heard a big bang by the porch of my house. I woke up, after hearing the noise, and searched around the porch with a flashlight to spot whatever was coming from the sound. I screamed loudly as if I knew that someone was spying on me. “Come out you coward. Only a fool will hide and sneak around a man’s house. A true man wont disguise his identity nor his appearance.” A man quickly came out and started heading straight toward me. I started to speak in a frantic matter, as if the sight of the person startled me and devoured my courage. “Another step and I will call the police! I’m warning you… don’t move!” The face that appeared was Tim Carter, and all of my fears diminished because it had given me the opportunity to seek revenge and destroy him for his crimes.

Tim spoke with an egotistical, overconfident, conceited, and cocky matter, as if he was superior to me. “Hey Jack Edward… how’s it going?” I tightened my fist, as if I was going to smite him, but realized that I would rather see him in jail for the rest of his useless life.

I then replied in a totally repugnant matter, “I think you know, Tim!”

Tim reacted in a calm, cool, and collective matter. “Yea, I do… but if you even attempt to put me down in the court of law… I will kill you!”

I took a big gulp, and once again my courageousness was drained from my body, but then, I realized that nothing would stop me now because justice would prevail. I glimpsed at the floor, then Tim, and said, “You will never get away with this… and I will take you done in the court of law!”

Tim lost his poise and yelled, “I am everything and much more then the law! You stand no chance, and I will scotch you like a bug if you even try!” By getting the last word in, Tim walked away and drove off quickly in his bright red Mercedes.

One week later, the police still didn’t find the murderer, and still questioned my statement of Tim Carter, being the suspect. I asked every detective, officer, and almost anyone with authority, by begging them, to please help me bring down Mr. Carter. They all waved me down, and in my dismay, I decided to take the case into my own hands.

I snuck into the evidence folder at midnight only eight days after my family was killed. “Well, well… It appears that Mr. Carter does have a cover up on this case. He’s trying to muscle everyone out of justice, well not on my dead body!” While there was some minor evidence against Tim Carter, there was nothing strong enough to guarantee him to be put away for good.

“No murder weapon”… I whisper to myself, “But I saw the murder weapon! Now where could he have hidden it?” Hmm… it appeared that the neighbors also have called the police and believe they could pick out the suspect if he was represented in a line. It seems that the police have completely ignored them, as well as myself, and decided to neglect any knowledge of any evidence that they may contain.

I heard footsteps… “Umm…what’s that? No… I can’t be caught because then I am done! Finished! Where to hide?” I looked straight up into what looks like to be an air vent. As I tried crawling up into it, I accidentally kick the side of the small crawlspace area.

The security officer grumbled, “What the heck was that?” He started investigating the area, and just when he walked into the room, I was slipping into a small vent, where I went unnoticed. “I must be going crazy”, the security officer muttered to himself.

I thought to myself in relief, “Phew… that was close! But what to do next?” After I heard the guard leave, I snuck out of the air vent and slowly left the building, while making sure I dodged the cameras. I went home and tried to have a positive mindset about catching Tim.

The next day, Tim Carter came to my house. He spoke with a smirk on his face, as if he had something against me or knew something that I didn’t. “Hey Mr. Edward, we have some concealing footage of you going into the top secret compartment, which is for the evidence, for the case of your family being killed. Now I can use this against you, and charge you with contaminating the evidence.”

I burst out with anger, while containing myself from charging at him. “But that’s exactly what you did!”

Mr. Carter replied with a grin on his face, “Yes, but nobody knows that, and everyone that does isn’t going to say a word!”

I can’t control myself anymore, and then I replied in a psychotic matter, “I am going to kill you, you son of a gun!” I bolted towards him with my pocketknife and stab him in the leg. I then started to throw some jabs, hooks, and uppercuts to his face. Tim retaliated by taking the knife out of his leg and by stabbing me in the gut.

Tim then yelled, “You’re going to regret that! I am going to bring you down! Do you know who I am? I am going to bring you down!”

Unfortunately, for my sake, I did know who Tim was! Tim was the person who could get away with anything. I remember what he did five years ago, when we were still buds. He assaulted a cop and no charges were given; he even wasn’t arrested. I was messing with the best of the best, and there could be consequences for it!

The next day, two officers arrived at my house. One stared at me with a smile on and the other one said, “Are you Mr. Edward”.

I paused and thought about lying for a second, but decided not to stoop down to that level. “Yes… Why?”

Both officers turned toward one another, with a maligned look, and then one spoke in a nice calm voice. “You are under arrest for the charge of battering Mr. Carter.”

I vehemently denied the crime and spoke in a high-pitched tone, which ultimately convinced them that I was lying. “Nonsense… that’s preposterous”

They then read me my rights while handcuffing me and hauling me into the back of a damp, dark smelling car.

Six hours after I was put into my cell, which was a cubicle room that reeked and stunk like rotten eggs, Mr. Carter showed up. He stared at me with piercing eyes and then chuckled at the sight of my misery. “Hey Jack… did you learn your lesson!”

I spoke in a mellow voice, but immediately demanded an answer, “Why did you do it?”

Tim quickly answered, after kicking the side of the iron pole, the same iron pole that kept me inside this stink hole. “It was revenge for myself! I was jealous that your wife picked you over me and I had to kill your daughter because she was a witness! I started to shake uncontrollably, but contained myself, and replied with a curious look.

“But what about me? I witnessed it from the front of the house… as I was coming back from the grocery store!”

Tim gazed at me, as if I was very naïve… “Well… I handled you in a different way!”

I spit onto his fancy suit, and then the guard yelled, “Cool it or I will put you into solitary confinement.

But Mr. Carter said, “No need to… he’s just being a little baby, I can handle him.”

The guard then moaned and said, “You’re lucky that he cares for you because I am not going to deal with your sour attitude anymore!

Mr. Carter then continued, “I told you Jack… don’t mess with me because I will bring you down! I will and I did bring you down!”

I replied with a composed look and mellow tone, “I will get my vengeance! I will get revenge, and it will be sweet!” Mr. Carter then glimpsed at me, but then sensed the fire in my eyes and quickly looked at the ground! Tim felt horrified for once, thinking that Jack had become psychotic or had lost his mind, and then quickly scurried out of the jail. I laughed manically and repeated fifty times that night, “I will get my vengeance!”

Three years later, my time had come! I was free. I finally smelt the nice blooming flowers and the pollen from the trees… I tasted a wonderful meal… and I have seen sweet freedom. After I became excited about my journey back into the civilized world, I became aware of what was important. Revenge on Mr. Carter! I found the address to where Mr. Carter was living. I also find out that he had retired, and had just moved to Florida with his wife. I arrived in Florida, and started to spy on him for the first couple of weeks that I was there. Honestly, it seemed like he was a changed man, but I didn’t care because he had ruined my life and had destroyed my family.

The next day, I followed his car to what appeared to be a gun range. He got out of his car and checked into the shooting range. I followed him close enough, to where he didn’t hear me, but I was still close enough to see him in my vision. I paid fifty dollars extra to get into the gun range because I was merely a guest, rather then a member. His gun resembled the same gun that he used to murder my family… but could I be mistaken? I was about thirty yards away from the killing… but I got a great look at the weapon! “That arrogant, son of a gun! It is the gun… I’m like one hundred percent sure! It’s the same gun… oh I am going to get him now! Yes, sir!”

I followed him slowly out of the gun range, and then it hit me. “I’ve got it!” I just thought of a plan that would be spectacular, but I would only get one chance… one chance! I put my rubber gloves on, and hoped for the best.

I beat him into his house and hid in the closet of his study. I witnessed him putting the gun away, on the desk in the study, and then he walked into the kitchen. I grabbed the gun, but accidentally knocked the lamp over. I quickly checked to see that there were four bullets in the gun, while the wife was slowly entering the room, she then screamed! “Oh my God! He has a gun!” I looked straight into her eyes and said, “I am sorry, but you’re associated with Tim Carter!” I shot her three times, one in the heart, the other in the stomach, and the last one in the head.

Mr. Carter heard the gunshots while parking the car, and came racing from the driveway and into the living room, only to witness his lovely wife dead… he then slowly turned his head to see me, and then yelled! “No…no…you killed my wife… you son of a bitch!”

I stared at him with no remorse and calmly said, “You killed my wife too… remember? Remember me, Tim? Tim… what goes around comes around! Do you believe that? I certainly do!”

Tim dazed at me in shock, and then slowly replied, “But… I am a changed man! I am different now Jack… I don’t deserve this! I am going to kill you… I swear… I am!”

I looked at Tim with no sympathy, nor empathy, and then raised the tone of my voice, and replied with a sound of hatred. “Hold on one second…so you’re saying I deserve having my family killed?”

“No! No I didn’t-!” Tim quickly said while stuttering and shacking his palms.

I quickly interrupted Tim while grazing my eyes through his skull, he sensed my anger, and I knew the consequences that he would pay for his brutal actions. I then continued, “Sometimes… it’s too late for change… and in your case, it is. My family can’t come back to life, so you can’t live any more.”

Tim begged and pleaded, “Please give me one more chance!”

I quickly replied, “I am sorry Tim Carter, but I can’t! No, I can’t because it’s justice for me to kill you! Remember Tim? I will get my vengeance! I will get my revenge, and it will be sweet!”

I shot Tim one time in the head from close range, hoping that the one shot will kill him because it was too late to turn back now.

I placed the gun into Mr. Carter’s hand and whispered to myself, “You’re a genius!” The only thing left to do now was to write the suicide note. I went to his office where his computer was located and wrote a letter that explained the suicide of Tim Carter. It read, “I can’t live with myself anymore! I have excruciating amount of pain because I can’t deal with the guilt of killing Jack Edward’s family. I felt that I had to kill my wife was well as myself to make up for Jack’s agonizing loss. As I write this… I would like to fully apologize to Jack. I am extremely sorry, and wish the best for you. I am also sorry to everyone who loves me, and feels hurt for my actions. This is something I have to do… and hope the best for everyone”

The reason that Tim Carter killed himself is a mystery to the world. Nobody knew why he revealed the truth about killing Jack Edward’s family. The fingerprints on the gun were indeed from Tim Carter. Only I knew the truth about the death of Mr. Carter! I knew and Tim knew. But Tim, I told you “I will get my vengeance! I will get my revenge, and it will be sweet!” Oh, boy I did! And I was right… it was sweet!
