One Night

One night I lay in your arms,

Warm, safe, and loved.

Looking like an angel from up above,

Your hair like a halo spread out on your pillow.

Your face sweet & at peace in your sleep,

A smile on those carnal lips.

Our bodies entwined,

Until we make one in the moonlight.

Just like our hearts & our souls.

I hear your heartbeat,

And it lulls me to sleep.

But I have one fleeting thought before sleep consumes me,

“We will be together till the end of time.”
