This is a poem on love between two different people and the struggle to break boundaries that leads to their downfall. It’s actually inspired by movies - the titles of all of which, I can no longer recall - and stories about the descent of angels.

Gabriel

- a guilt that lies beyond understanding

With severed wings you’ve done your part

You have torn man and God by the heart

The choir of angels had seen you fall

And they ask themselves if it’s worth it all

-

The mortal eyes that have seen your pain

Have had too much to witness once again

This lie that forced a lawful premise

A forbidden love that broke the promise

-

What you acquired for immortality’s price

Has cursed you and caused you this demise

And yet you say you have not the least regret

You would feel for her again if chance would let

-

And thus you lie in peace - a mortal shell

That this end will be yours, you knew too well

Had He taken you back you still would’ve chosen

The hand and the grace by which you’ve fallen

to the one who got away - for the wounds that i inflicted without the slightest idea how i even did.
