dynamite rockets
blew us sky high
as we strapped ourselves to the fire engine red metal
and set it ablaze
because we wanted to see
how fast it takes to get to heaven.

we sped past the blues and whites
of the sky
chanting a prayer to ourselves while holding on
and we thought about the consequences
if we turned the rocket to crash
into a star:

would we explode?
