Plan
(n. a scheme, programme, or method worked out beforehand for the accomplishment of an objective)
She's rigid at her desk.
She's got more on her plate than she can manage;
She lays comfort in the tangled disorder
She likes the way the mess repeats
She wants to know it before it comes.
She's forgotten how to live in the present;
She spends her time regretting & planning
She can't live if she isn't aware
She needs to know it before it comes.
She's got her life mapped out in front of her;
She hides it in her planners
She pens it down in ink
She knows it before it comes.
(She hides behind the masquerade of mental mishaps,
she was born that way, she can't help it
if things go a little wrong!)
She's got herself a perfect li(f)e, &
Then something

her away.
she's cold

on the streets.
she wants someone to pick her up.
she wants someone to
hold her
hug her
tight
(& tell her everything's gonna be alright.)
she needs comfort;
to curl up in someone's lap
rest her head against a shoulder
lose herself in the
warmth.
there's a light somewhere far away
there's a smile waiting to happen
there's a hand on her shoulder
there’s a fingerprint left in the frost
(soft touches don’t melt stubborn hearts)
she's (still) cold, &
Then something

her away.
She falls back in perfect place;
Not a paper rustled on her desk.

She smooths the white
& erases it from her mind;
She didn't plan it.
It didn't happen.
She picks up her pen and begins to write;
She loses herself in the flow of her life,
She loses herself in her perfect plans.
She's lost in/secur(i/e)ty.
