Prologue

Once upon a time, there was a race of powerful, immortal beings traveling the universe. Some say they rode giant, mythical creatures; others say they became the beasts. Whatever they were, they came in search of a new home world.

Lord Gedderius led his family across the vastness of space until they discovered a planet with great potential. The lands were barren yet fertile; the indigenous beings, primitive, but willing to learn. With guidance, patience, and care this world could flourish.

One barrier stood in their way – a vile, destructive being called Zedmaron. Zedmaron arrived before Lord Gedderius and had already begun tainting the innocent world with evil.

Aided by his mate and their children, Lord Gedderius defeated Zedmaron and purged the world of his influence, but not without a price. Zedmaron, in his final attempt to flee, managed to contaminate one of Lord Gedderius’ daughters with seeds of darkness.

The surviving beings, humans and beast men alike, welcomed Lord Gedderius and his family, who dubbed their new world Olaniran. Lord Gedderius divided the lands, waters, and skies amongst his children. Together they worked to bring Olaniran to its full glory…

Author’s Note:

To some people, this story may seem familiar. In fact, it is. A long time ago, I started a Digimon fanfic called “Once Upon a Time.” It pretty much sat on my hard drive for a long time. One day I pulled it up and looked at it with fresh eyes. At that point, I realized that the story itself had very little to do with Digimon. Other than character names and physical descriptions, the story had taken on a life of its own.

Therefore, I am rewriting the story, replacing Digimon characters with original ones and editing parts that I wasn’t happy with in the first place.

Feedback on this story is going to be much appreciated, as I really need to see if this story works on its own.
