Words drifted aimlessly around each other
Speaking out to the crowd with closed ears
Silenced courage is forever hidden
In the midst of the people’s fears

“Betrayer! Betrayer,” out cried the world
“The sin of all sins has been committed!”
What would betrayal and sin be
If the sinner’s tale not be permitted?

Everyone watched the ousted Loser
As the world turned away with disdain
How could a world built upon justice
Leave those unheard, in pain?

Neither strangers nor even best of friends
Will lend an open ear or share a heart
A story with half the plot missing
Like a broken lover won’t see its counterpart

And the eyes were cast skyward
Screaming out with a piercing glare
No one will listen nor lend a glimpse
For this cruel world is not fair
