Dolphins leap above angry waves,

Crabs sleep beneath the sand.

Warm waves caress the beach,

As I watch from the shore.

Searing hot sand underneath my feet,

The ocean seems gorgeous.

Massive; it seems to go on forever,

Holding eternal secrets.

Night is quiet, kind, and warm,

I run down the beach through the dark humid air,

To completely immerse my finger,

In the never sleeping waves.

The whole world behind me,

I fairly fly past all else.

Waist high in roaring water,

Salty air fills my nostrils.

Morning awakes from a stormy night,

The waves are enormous.

I feel the wind rush over my face,

Piercing my soul and heart.

I am beckoned by the calm waters,

Wading up to my knees, I kneel.

I feel the water around me,

I want to become it.

My very soul yearns to be part of it,

My eyes close and I slip beneath the water.

It surrounds me completely,

It fills in every space and contour of my face and heart.

The water is filled with magic,

Filled with life and death.

I wish to slip under the blanket of warm water,

And never immerge again.

I taste the water.

I feel the water.

I love the water.

I am the water.
