Chewing Gum

I got kicked out of class today

For chewing gum.

His thought was

That I should

Care more about my grades.

My thought was

That he should

Care less about my gum.

Math

Math and torture

Are equidistant from pain

Turn off that Light!

I was revealing all

The truths.

Illuminating falsehood with

Honesty, when I realized

That I liked it better when

It was dark.

Knock First.

The light stops just outside

The doorway. It tries to creep

From the window into this

Gloomy room, where chalk

Makes it chalky sound

On the blackboard. The

Pulsing, penetrating, monotonous

Voice pushes it back. The lazy,

Static numbers push it back.

The tired, sleepy children push it back. I try

To let it in, but everything

Pushes back.

The Heavenly Effects of Color

Shocks of color rise up from

Things that don’t belong in this

Room. The color that throws back all of which

The room mindlessly embodies. The room tries to

Usher out the soft blues,

And vibrant reds. It tells them

That they don’t belong. But like the soldiers

These colors are,

They stand their ground,

And smile.
