I do have an ending in mine though it may change after I see how well you guys like this chapter. I know this one is gonna be very short and it may not be the best one...but be patience with me please. I've made a promise that I'm going to finish up this story...for me also for you!...soo be patience and review!
REVIEW IF YOU READ THE STORY K!!
A gasped escaped Rachel breaking the silence that had somehow surrounded them. Even though the lives of everyone else in the restaurant went on. Though it seemed to both of them that they were the only ones at that very moment. Both frozen on the spot. One with a sad, guilty look on her face, and the other with an angry scowl.
What had I done!? I can't believe I did that. Rachel thought as her eyes stayed connected with his. She was afraid if she turned away, or even blinked he would be gone. She knew he hated being touched and she had done the worst thing ever. She slapped him! Now he'll never talk to me again. Just the thought sent tears to her eyes. Causing her to loose the battle within and blink.
“I'm sorry.”
The whispered apology feel on dead ears as Nicolo went to turn around. Rachel reacted with out really thinking as she reached out and grabbed his arm. Just great...make him like you by touching him some more. She thought as she felt Nicolo's muscles strain against her sweaty palm.
“Wait please.” She begged. Even though the plea sounded slightly strange coming from her. She ignored it as she watched him yank his arm free from her touch. As if her fingers were somehow burning into his skin.
A low growl escaped him as he rounded on her. His body movements frightened her as it looked like he was getting ready for a fight. Instead of the scowl he had just moments ago shown to her disappeared. Leaving behind a blank canvas of such. He showed no emotion except in his stance.
“Leave. Me. Alone!” He growled out each word. Wanting her to get the hint and high tail it away from him.
Rachel flinched away from his words. Her heart literally pounding so loud in her ear drums, that she was afraid her fragile ear drums would bust. She felt as if her world was falling apart in front of her eyes. She knew she really didn't have anything with Nicolo, and there probably wouldn't of been anything. But the thought of never talking to him again tore at her. Could she really go on with out having him throw a taunt at her at least once a day?
“No!” She said forcefully. She firmly stood her ground. Planting her hands on her hip bones as she gave him a pleading stare. “Just hear me out and then you can go on hating me.” She promised him, giving him a small smile. Hoping to at least break some of the tension.
Here it goes. Now or never. Rachel thought as she wiggled her hands in front of her in a nervous habit. She could barely breath as she tried to come up with something to say to him on the spot. “I...I...” She opened her mouth to tell him how sorry she was but nothing came out. Her stomach felt as if butterflies were floating around inside. And her mind was currently in a haze. No coherent thoughts were making their way to the surface.
“Get on with it.” Nicolo growled out through clenched teeth. He was feeling his patience leave him fast. This girl really would be the death of him.
Rachel stood there for a few more seconds. Still opening and then closing her mouth. Nicolo grew tired fast. Rolling his eyes he turn around like before. But this time Rachel didn't stop him as he walked away. Not even heading back to his table. No he went straight out the door. The bathroom forgotten to him, as the sticky goo had dried already.
She could faintly make out a 'stupid bitch' as he mumbled it. Sighing, she lowered her head toward the ground. The tears threatening to fall as she pushed her way through the breakfast crowd and literally threw herself into her seat. Dane lifted his head slightly and stopped shoving food into his mouth.
“What's wrong?” He asked her, concerned clearly in his voice.
He expected to get a long, weird ass story from her like all the other times. But no all he got was a shrug of her shoulders and a look like she had just lost her best friend. Realizing that she needed time he went back to stuffing his face. Making sure to glance at her every so often. He could just make out the shake of her shoulders. As her head was down and her hair had somehow made a shield blocking her face from view. He sighed feeling all happiness leave him.
She was crying.
She could faintly hear the sound of his seat scooting backwards and his footsteps nearing her. “It's going to be ok Rach.” He whispered as he engulfed her into a tight hug. “What happened?” He asked softly not understanding how she had went from happy one minute to being sad the next.
“I just lost my best friend.” She whispered her voice cracking at the end.
Dane was as confused as he could ever be. But figured he'd ask her about it later on. She just needed to be held at the moment. Though, unknown to the lonely pair a figure was leaning against the wall staring at them with anger in his eyes. His arms were crossed tightly across his chest. “Stupid bitch.” He muttered low under his breath as he ran a hand roughly through his hair. He wanted nothing more then to storm across the crowded restaurant and yank her away from the pansy player. But he didn't really feel like making a scene at that moment. He still had to get her back. A chuckle escaped him at the thought of what he would do to her. Oh he was going to get her real good.
But not this time. No she was currently trying to stay awake. Though it wasn't working that much, since her eyes were blinking every few seconds.
She hadn't gotten any sleep last night. Her mind lost on thoughts of Nicolo and the sad look on his face when she had slapped him. Just the thought of that sent her heart in an uproar. Groaning she allowed her eyes to scan the small, confined class room. Even though she told herself she wasn't looking for him just trying to lessen her boredom she knew the truth.
Her breath caught in her throat as she saw him. He was leaning against the wall. His face blank from showing any emotion. Though the way he carried himself anybody could tell that he really wasn't there. His friends were talking to him, but he wasn't really paying any attention to them.
And it's all because of me.
“Class!” The teachers voice boomed through the loud room. Causing the students up front to flinch backwards, away from the angry looking teacher. He was sweating from aggravation. To Rachel he looked like he was about to strangle someone. And personally she didn't want that someone to be her.
Finally after what seemed like twenty more minutes everyone had finally settled down. Taking a deep breath the teacher spoke softly this time. “Now for this assignment. I'm going to pair you up and you have to work through one chapter as a group.”
A groan escaped Rachel as she threw her head down onto her desk top. Literally threw it. Dane laughed as he shook his head. Moving over to her he laid his head gently down on the table along side hers. “Hey don't worry well be partners.” He said quietly. He along with just about everyone else in the class though the pair thing was a stupid idea. It was fricken math class for goodness sakes! Though the teacher probably just wanted everyone to stop asking him questions. The thought brought a smile to his face.
Rachel smiled a little. Nudging him with her shoulder. “Let's hope.”
“Now finally. Rachel and...let's see...” The teacher seemed to be taking extra long with the last two names. His eyes scanned over the long list about three times before a sigh broke through his parted lips. “Rachel your partner shall be Nicolo.”
A silent broke out through the whole class room. For a few seconds nobody moved. Then like a calm before the storm thing everybody broke up in laughter. Rachel felt her cheeks flame red. Just great, she thought. Not only was she paired up with the one person in the world that probably wished her dead at the moment, everybody else were just making fun of her. Not being able to have all eyes on her. She jumped up causing her chair to fall backwards. A loud bang echoed through the whole room. Making the students laugh even more. Even the teacher cracked a smirk.
She turned toward Dane and saw that he was too busy staring at his partner. A leggy red head that was giving him the look. The one that you know by the end of the day you'll have that person in bed. She shivered as she scrunched up her face in disgust. Just great, the one time that she needed him he wasn't there for her!
Sparing a glance toward Nicolo she froze. He was just staring at her. As if he had no care in the world. Like it didn't bother him that everyone was laughing at her cause she had him as a partner. That it didn't bother him that he had to work on a whole damn chapter with her!
Feeling the tears that had threaten to fall for the past day and a half come to the surface again. Pushing her way through the desk and chairs she made it to the door before the first tear fell. Ducking her head low she hurried out of the room. Only barley making it to the front of the main school in time to drop to her knees and break down into tears. “Why me?” She whispered to herself. Lifting her head to stare upwards as if God would finally give her the answers to all of her questions.
Nicolo finally showed some emotion. For the first time that day. He smiled nodding his head. “Yeah dude I do have eyes.” He joked nudging Ryan right back.
Ryan chuckled shaking his head. “Hey at least you get to work a fine piece of ass like her.” He said with a smirk plastered on his face. “I have...well..” He trailed off staring darkly at his partner. Whatever 'it' was. “yeah.”
Nicolo rolled his eyes as he watched Ryan make an outline of an ass with his hands. His eyes glazed over as he was actually turning himself on. Nicolo shivered in disgust. “Gross man will you stop that!” He yelled at him shoving him a lot harder then he meant to. Witch caused Ryan to loose his balance and end up sprawled on the floor.
Rolling his eyes at his friends drastic ways he stood up. Scooting his chair backwards loudly but nobody even dared look at him. They knew better. He stepped over Ryan who was just laying there on the ground. Like he didn't have a care in the world. Nicolo was about to walk the rest of the way out of the class room before he stopped. He remembered his friends words a few minutes ago about Rachel.
Ryan who was just about to get up turned and stared at his friends in confusion as he heard him clear his throat. Nicolo smiled at him before bringing his foot forwards into a sharp kick to Ryan's side. “Think of this as a warning. Stay clear of her.” He whispered in a calm voice. Even though his face showed anything but calm. More like mess with me and you die look.
Ryan nodded his head hastily. “Ok.” He chocked out as he reached down to check his family treasures to make sure Nicolo missed them.
“Good..let's go then man.” He said reaching down and yanking Ryan to his feet. He laughed as Ryan hollered and held onto his side.
