The Ordeal

I thought of you;
You never really knew me.
I watched for you;
You went your daily ways.

I hoped for you;
You did well on your own.
I laughed with you,
But so did all the rest.

I felt your pain;
We both suffered alone.
I wished you knew;
You inspired me all the same.

I was afraid;
I never even told you, and,
I’ll miss you, though,
