So I wrote this about a week ago, and I’m pretty proud of it since I usually am terrible with poetry. I know this is probably like all those other angst-y poems out there, but I think it’s rather good. Here it is.

The One With A Prickly Heart
By: Late March

I am the quiet one
The one who sits in the back
The one with the prickly heart

My mind is strong
My heart is encased
Hidden behind a wall
A façade of ice

My heart wavers
Behind it’s wall
So many worries and
Doubts press upon it

As I smile in the hall
And make my friends laugh
Tears of pain fall from my
Soul

If all my wounds
Mental, emotional, physical
No matter how small
Could be bared
Revealed to all
My body would become a canvas
A canvas for scars and
One unhealing, bloody
Gash

And that saying
About time healing all wounds
It’s a load of bull
Trust me, I know

I am the quiet one
The one who sits in the back
The one with the prickly heart.

Please read and review everyone. I’d really love to know what you thought about it.
