She was sitting in the shop
A book in her hand
Crying softly she said
I don’t understand
I’m more than a sister
Less than a fan
Not quite a lover
But more than a friend
Now I’m begging
Begging for normalcy
When boy meets girl
And he likes me
I’d flash him a smile
He’d grin right back
We’d talk a while
He’d have the knack
Of making me happy
All fuzzy inside
I’d leave feeling peachy
With a smile so wide
He threw a fist against the wall
A scowl on his face
He said, I don’t know why
But she’s so hard to chase
She’s more than a sister
Colder than a fan
Not quite a lover
But more than a friend
Now I’m begging
Begging for normalcy
When boy meets girl
And she likes me
I’d say hello
And how d’you do?
She’d reply I’m fine
I hope you are too
We’d talk a while
Until she has to go
I’d watch her smile
‘Cos I love her so
