Chapter 2:
Hazel eyes opened as her mind finally went back into focus. Her first thought was to get more sleep, but then as she turned around on her side to get into a more comfortable position her eyes snapped back open and she gasped in pain.
“Oh, good…” a voice from behind her said, “You’re awake… I was beginning to wonder if I should call someone…”
A man walked into the small room. She noticed that the room itself was pretty boring, bland and white. The man was tall, and a bit attractive. He had an unusual eye color – a gray-bluish type and black hair that fell about half an inch below his ear.
Her eyes widened. Frantically, she said, “Where am I?!”
The man chuckled and said, “Don’t worry… You’re safe… I found you in the outside.”
Her eyes widened even more if possible.
“It was pretty late,” he chuckled some more, and laid a tray down onto a small table next to the bed in which she was lying in. “I found out that I, myself, had fallen asleep for a bit, but I woke up in the middle of the night and carried you here. It’s my apartment,” he explained.
The angelic woman didn’t listen anymore. Breathing hard, she got up, throwing the sheets off her in the process as quickly as she could.
“Hey--! Wait! Where are you going?” the man asked, startled at the sudden action.
She turned to face him, stopping at the way. She glared, “Where I’m going is my business!” She growled at him.
“Whoa, whoa!! Last night, you weren’t so keen to leave!” he reasoned, “Come now… If you were to leave, then your wounds won’t heal.”
She looked at herself quickly at those words. “Huh?”
Bandages were wrapped around her upper right arm, lower left leg, both her feathery white wings were messily wrapped in bandages and her thin white dress that covered her frame were stained with a red-brownish spots.
Her lips pursed for a moment.
He walked over to her, his expression – filled with concern. “Tell me… What happened?” he asked, tilting his head slightly.
Her eyes flashed angrily. “I told you!! It’s none of your business!!” She stomped away from him and walked out the room – he followed.
“You’ve got some attitude for an angel,” he commented.
She stopped walking. Slowly, and cat-like, she turned around as he involuntarily backed away from her. “What? Did? You? Say?!” she nearly yelled.
“Nothing! Nothing!” he said almost too quickly. Some angel…he thought to himself.
“I heard that!” the “angel” said, “And I’m not an angel!!” She turned back to where she was going and started to walk again. Her shoulders began to relax.
“Wah--?” he asked now slightly confused. He started to follow her as if he were a lost puppy.
She only turned back once to glare at him as she walked towards the back door. She opened it and found that it led to the balcony.
“Then… If you’re not an angel… What are you?” he questioned suddenly as she started to balance herself on the rim of the balcony. She sat down on it and turned to face the sunrise. She hugged her knees to her chest.
Slowly, her head turned around to face the man behind her. His eyes widened at her change of demeanor. She smiled sadly before replying.
She whispered, “I’m a shinigami…”
Author’s Note: For those of you who don’t know what a shinigami is, it’s a death god in Japanese. Oh! Limited Edition, you’re right, I did do a typo. It’s supposed to be “vast”. (sweatdrop) And thank you!
Still no names yet!! God! What is this author thinking?! XP
How was that chapter? Hope you like it!! Please review!!
P.S. Sorry it's so short! I'll try to make it longer!
