Modern Day Zombie

We’ve lost all reason to the screens;

Lets just give into the harsh, modern embrace.

Cold hands from those who live life right,

Without such deceiving luxuries.

Blank glances from those who are just like us,

Who have given it all up and lost it all for today,

Instead of for the sweet minutes of tomorrow.

We grow pale from lack of sunlight,

We grow daft from lack of realization,

And we never realize that it’s our own fault.

No one around to quiet the screaming child,

She’s isolated by reality; what everyone else lacks.

‘Reality is for the innocent; the naïve!’ They scream,

Because it took them too long to realize their mistake.
