You can't escape it...
She stumbled into the corner of the room. Her hands beat against the wall as she let out a silent sob. The beating of her heart grew to a quick pace as her breathing also sped up. Tired arms slid off of the wall and went around her waist. She hugged herself tightly, violently rocking back and forth. The madness was getting the best of her. Trying to take over her mind completely. She tried to fight the voice in her head, but her attempt appeared to be failing.
Give up and give in...
Tears streamed down her face as a pained groan escaped her lips. In no time, she was on her feet, staggering through the dark room. After a few feet, an unknown object found itself in front of her sneaker and she tripped onto the cold floor. Her face violently collided with the wooden planks. She slowly propped herself up onto her knees. Dragging a hand across her face, the girl made the discovery of fresh blood leaving her nose. The bodily ache returned, throwing her body flat onto the floor again.
Stop fighting it...
"No." Her statement was a gasping breath. Her hands balled into fists and her brown eyes shut tight. "I won't do it."
The footsteps echoed throughout the room. Each one like a bomb exploding next to her ear. Ever so slowly they made their way closer towards her. In her current situation, she had lost all patience. Inside, her mind screamed for it to all be over with. For all the pain to stop and for her to finally be at peace. And suddenly, the noise ceased. Her heart stopped and she silently waited for the inevitable.
"You can't escape." The new voice was cold, yet calm.
She winced inside. No longer could she fight it. Her mind apologized to those she loved dearly. And, finally, she gave into the madness.
