A New Beginning

It’s time to store away
The pictures that we took.
I’ll try to stop the lies
You told me that I could.

I’ll purge myself of all
The folk that bring me down.
I’ll fall into your arms
To find more solid ground.

It’s time to remember
The convictions that I had.
I’ll try to tear apart
For myself what’s good or bad.

I’ll shed this other skin
In favor of better times.
I’ll search myself and now
We’ll see what I can find.

Just hold me by your side
And I, too, can start anew.
Just tell me it’s alright
And I will believe it, too.

It’s time to start over fresh again,
And I’ll be reborn in good time.
It’s time to find again the point in life.
