Ryana’s POV

Anorexia…the eating disorder; marked by an extreme fear of becoming overweight that would lead to excessive dieting to the point of serious ill-health and sometimes death…the problem that made you look like a walking talking corpse, all skin and bones.

I wondered now if those girls that walked by me had them, they had just shared an apple together…all 4 of them, and still couldn’t finish it. They said they had wanted to fit into their outfits that they were going to wear to a cocktail party. Snorting, I walked past the rubbish bin, throwing a glance at the lip-stick smudged green apple that lay abandoned, what made me snort a laugh was that it only had 4 tiny bites disheveling its smooth features. How could a tiny bites as big as your pinky get you so full?

Without thought, I took it out of the trash can, washed it clean with the public water fountain, cut off the outer parts with my small blade that I use to hide in the small compartment I had made myself in my cut off shorts and gave it to a hobo that crawled around the park asking for money. He had given me a smile of gratitude and devoured the apple like a bloodlust beast.

Leaving the poor ragged man to his apple, I walked briskly towards a small alley that seemed to be wedged between two old, rotting buildings. The dark loomed inside the alley, daring you to step inside, whispering for you to come join it in the alley. I noticed passerby’s giving it fearful glances, walking past so fast, they seemed to be sprinting, it was amusing enough for me to laugh at. I found myself getting lost in the swirls of the black, paralyzed for half a second or so.

“Come to the dark side my pretty…we have cookies!”

A voice, mocking, teasing, the one I knew so well, penetrated the silent air. I squinted closer into the dark and a figure melted slowly melted into view. First came a crop of blonde hair, then came black eyes with tinges of yellow, soon the tall and lean yet built body came into view. Clothed in black baggy trousers and a loose sleeveless black top, the boy sauntered towards me, his eyes flashing a mischievous look. He had an alluring and dangerous vibe about him, scary yet seductive enough for a girl to swoon.

“Leave her alone Krayd…” A small yet stern voice stopped him in his tracks. He turned 90 degrees to his right to face a tree with high branches. Our gazes raised up to the 3rd highest branch to find a girl with long auburn hair tied in a loose pony tail by a leather strap. Her naturally red eyes seemed to bore into us, searching for any trace of emotion, which she found of course. The black rims around her eyes indicated her sleeping problems…

Insomnia, the inability to fall asleep or remain asleep long enough to feel rested. This though, she didn’t mind, her haunted look only lasted in the early mornings and late at night, other than that, she was fine I think… other than her creepy glares and power to scare scary people.

“Oh come on, Fearell…live a little” Krayd laughed, placing his hands loosely on his hips, his eyes though seemed to glare back at her. Eyes never lie… I thought as I glanced between their gazes.

She stood up on the branch suddenly, for a second I thought she was going to fall, but she jumped lightly from branch to branch until she reached the ground, her face still emotionless. She wore faded jeans that was purposely torn around the knees and a loose black long-sleeved top which she rolled to her elbows, the back seemed to have a small flap, though I know not what its purpose was, I forced myself to temporarily settle with the assumption that it was just the fashion.

A very queer fashion…

A black messenger bag with red decorations out lining it dangled on her right shoulder, she shifted it higher up her shoulder before looking back at the tree, as if waiting for something. She rolled her eyes and kicked the tree with a soft thud. There came an “Oof” sound and a tall boy of 16 turned materialized into view. His sharp, electric blue eyes seemed to be annoyed, he glared at his younger sister before running a hand through his black rooted, silver hair that reached his nape. He wore black trousers and a black shirt that seemed to be branded by a familiar brand, but was to faded to be eligible to read. His black backpack was draped on one of his shoulder only, the zipper on the front compartment slightly opened.

“Hey Fiz…” Krayd greeted, calling him by his nickname. No one knew his real name, he seemed to be ashamed or embarrassed to be called by his first name, so everyone just calls him Fizzy.

“’Sup…” He returned the greeting with a high five and those other hand things guys do which girls seem to never do. I looked around for Fearell but she seemed to disappear from her brother’s side, another creepy habit she has. I turned towards the alley next to us to find her half submerged in the dark, her eyes shone in the dark, as if it was grateful of the darkness. She chatted with something in the dark, something which I cannot see, a mere shadow that was just visible enough to squint at.

“Come on…we’ll be late” I heard Krayd sigh suddenly, I blinked and that figure was gone, my jaw drop was given a disapproving look by Fearell, who had her eyebrows arched in a mixture of amusement and confusion. Closing them back again, I started off into the dark, going by sonar, following Fearell’s and Fizzy’s footsteps a short distance away. They seem to find no trouble at all walking in complete darkness, except for a ray of light here and there. I felt eerie in the silence that followed us, covering us tightly in it’s billows of blankets.

I heard a drop of water somewhere to my right, but didn’t bother to glance at it, knowing that I would see nothing much in the dark lightings. About a few hundred metres later, My nose crashed into what I found was the sturdy back of Fizzy, who gave me a quick glance of concern before looking back at his sister who reached out for what appeared to be a wooden wall.

It had vines growing all around it, circling around the carved symbols all over the wooden surface. Fearell reached out to touch a small symbol with intricate lacing lines and muttered something quickly under her breath. A red light seem to start to seep through her fingers, quickly spreading through the lines, creating a picture of a complicated symbol that filled the whole wall. The vines, seemingly turned to writhing black things started to wriggle out of the view, as if the red light seemed to pain them. Fearell glanced behind her, as if weary of something but shook her head at her brother who was about to turn around to check on it.

Soon enough, the wall became a blurry picture, Fearell lifted her hand and threaded her fingers through the gooey substance that seemed to suck her hand in. It appeared to be a door or some sort, half reflecting images from our side and on the other side. Just as Fearell was about to disappear, she craned her neck towards us and said softly, “Someone’s approaching…hurry.” Fizzy quickly darted in after her, the substance made a horrible sucking sound as it closed in after he made a gap between it. I grimaced and watched Krayd trail in, leaving alone in the pitch black darkness with only the door illuminating in front of me.

I was never used to these mornings, I cherished the times when I was at home, away from all these weird things, but that was life…and life was very fickle in which path they want you to take.

Shaking my head to rid off the conversations with myself, I slipped halfway through when I heard it. The soft and slow shuffle of footsteps, carefully treading its way towards me. Feeling a little eerie, I quickly gave a short glance around me, hoping and praying, practically begging to the Lord above to have mercy on me and make whoever that was coming to stumble and fall so that he would not see me or the door. As if reading my prayers, I heard a stumble not far away and a string of curses. The voice was small but audible enough for me to recognize it to be a man’s voice.

After a half second thought of concern for the person, I quickly forced myself to go through the gooey substance. I felt it graze and slide past my skin, its cool surface sending a small shiver down my spine. It threaded through my hair, as if brushing it softly with a comb.

What greeted me on the other end was a blinding bright light that made my dark adjusted eyes to squint. I blinked vigorously, seeing spots of purple and blue dance before my eyes. Rubbing them furiously, I again squinted at the glare of light.

Just as my eyes were starting to adjust, I felt the ground under me tremble, I let out a confused unintelligent sound and stared at the pebbles under me jump around like fleas. Before I knew it I was throw in the air, somersaulted and was diving head first towards the ground. A scream escaped my lips as the ground rapidly zoomed closer and closer towards me, like train and you’re the one facing it dead on. With laughter ringing in my ears, I watched in horror as the ground came into a view which was so close it touched the hair of my nose. Worst of all, I couldn’t do anything but wait for the sickening crunching sound of my nose being broken and smashed into the ground that was sure to happen in only a matter of milliseconds.

So...this is a new story...I hope you enjoy it. I welcome flames as always ofcourse, but please do it for a purpose for with it I could improve. Anyways...after this I'm going to take down tetra, seeing that it's very...uhm...as you say...a piece of crap writing, hahaha, in my opinion anyway (but I bet you agree too! Don't lie!)

Erm...I welcome any suggestions if anyone wants a certain scene or anythin...lol, though if anyone WILL read this of course...and if anyone DOES review this. So...erm...yeah...I'll update after a certain time of brainstorming of a new chapter...
