“Look out!”

The warning came too late.

The sword came down and got her in the side as she turned to face her attacker. She screamed in pain as she sank to the earth, dropping her sword in the process. She could feel the darkness gradually creep over her as another scream pierced the air that had not been from her.

She struggled to keep her eyes open and see what was going on, but the darkness won. Her eyes slipped closed as a hand seized her to roughly pull her to her feet.
